Toyology.co.uk was set up to provide quality news and reviews from the world of toys and gadgets. We aim to appreciate what is great about the most exciting products, and show it off with top-notch writing, photography and video. Our target audience is children and parents, and anyone who is interested in fun things. The Toyology brand was established by Peter Jenkinson – also known as the Toyologist – in 2003 & the website was relaunched in 2013.
Meet The Team
Peter Jenkinson (The Toyologist)
Editor & Lead Writer
Blackpool born and blames all his good fortune on that. A formative youth woven with arcade machines and fairground rides has plenty to do with the career he has carved out. A passionate articulator, he has plenty to say and, whilst admittedly mistaken, on occasion, he makes a good case for his defence.
Peter has written, created, scripted, directed, reviewed, lampooned, and presented all manner of aspects of the toy business. From stepping in to host a shopping channel sales slot where the rotors on the RC choppers didn’t appear to work, to talking at length about a Lightsaber on CNN’s flagship news show – he’s tried plenty, and always gets invited back.
For over a decade our Toyologist has penned round-ups and features for national publications, on and offline. His words are everywhere and so they should be, as an expert on toys and tech trends.
Toyology’s Editor-in-chief is also co-founder of The Board Game Club, a monthly get together for inventors and play testers to develop ideas.
His favourite game is Guess Who, I’m partial to Monopoly (yes really), love a NERF blast off and am an unashamed rider of electric scooters.
Rob Taylor-Hastings (The Toyminator)
Writer-Tech Toys & Collectibles
Rob joined Toyology in 2017 and has been perusing toys both new and old ever since!
This actor & presenter is a proud Midlands lad who fled to London over a decade ago. Having grown up on a healthy diet of Power Rangers, Transformers and Thundercats, Rob is a sucker for anything that goes ‘pow!’ And ‘Zap!’ A film producer and radio savvy man this Toyminator really knows his R/C’s from his elbow.
When he’s not busy writing about toys and do-dads you can find Rob on stage or in front of a camera.
