Battle of Britain – 80 years since the first foray

Eight decades ago today the Luftwaffe dropped their first payload onto the UK the battle that ensued was seen as one of the most pivotal points of WWII – Thanks to all the air aces that guided us to victory in the skies. We struggle to maintain our composure when the seatbelt comes on before some mild turbulence. The Airfix brand have shown us imagery of a commemorative set for the Battle of Britain that’ll be released in a few weeks time, a 1:72 scale set of a Lancaster Bomber, Hurricane and Spitfire. Pre-order a set for £36.99 from Airfix and when they’ve arrived and you’re all painted and done, hang them from your ceiling with some fishing line, set a fan underneath, print out a backdrop of shadowy clouds and crank up the Vera Lynn classic “We’ll meet again”.
